Jimmy Davies, born on August 8, 1929, was an American racecar driver from the mid-1940s to the 1960s. He participated in multiple racing categories including midget, sprint car, and Indy car racing.

Davies made his debut in the Indianapolis 500 in 1950 and finished second in 1951, third in 1953, and fourth in 1954. He won the race in 1963, driving a rear-engine car, which he developed with chief mechanic Clint Brawner.

Apart from his Indy 500 wins, he had a successful career in sprint car racing, winning multiple championships and was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1995.

Unfortunately, Davies died in a crash at the Milwaukee Mile in 1966. Despite his relatively short career, he is considered one of the best drivers of his generation.
